A Message from the President
As the journey of our new school year begins, I wanted to take a moment to update you on the amazing things happening at Nativity. Once again our students have returned and fill the halls with joy, laughter, and an eagerness to learn. Our returning students have reunited with their friends and teachers after their summer break. In addition, our new students, are acclimating to their new school, friends, and teachers. Our graduates are beginning a new year at their high schools, colleges, or in the workforce. We are hopeful for all the good that will come to our community from these new beginnings. All of this good is possible, because of the generous support from our many partners and our collaborative work.
We are now reaching the milestone of 10 years since our first graduating class in 2012. Reflecting back on my involvement with Nativity as a Board of Trustees member prior to becoming President a little over a year ago, I am excited about our progress! Since the first class graduated eighth grade in 2012, 97% of our graduates have graduated high school and 79% have a 2- or 4-year college degree. We now have students who are entering the workforce and are coming back to us to be involved in an alumni council.
I am enthusiastic and hopeful for all the good that this new school year will bring. As President, it is my responsibility and calling to be a steward of your time, talent, and treasures to ensure God’s love permeates this institution, allowing the dreams of our students, alumni, and their families to be fulfilled. Thank you again for being the bedrock from which we build. We continue to be humbled and grateful by how God is working through this great mission, every step of this journey together. Be blessed!
James C. Smith
